it felt good today to be working from home, not having to commute in the rain. and where else, i ask you, can i work topless the entire day, other than at home? i woke up when i felt like it (10am), and started debugging. around noon i had breakfast, some weight watcher meal that mysteriously found its way into my freezer, turkey with gravy and stuffing and some vegetables. i seem to have less freedom when i work from home than i do in the office, actually. everytime i think i can get away, somebody instant messages me with a new bug to check out. eventually i was able to steal some time and go out for a run in the rain around 2pm. even though it was raining, today was so suffocatingly humid, it didn't seem to help. my left knee didn't feel right when i left and it didn't feel right when i returned. as soon as i got back, before i even had time to shower, i was inundated with bad news again in the form of more bugs to fix. i left the house at 4pm, on my way to microcenter, the rain having stopped so i could ride there. i was shopping for wireless routers and range-extending antennas. i didn't buy anything, left, got stuck in rush hour traffic, and went to belmont, where i went with my parents to costco. my left leg is the leg i extend out first when i come to a stop, and because of that, my left knee absorbs a lot of shock. not good. i ended up limping around the aisles of bulk savings. afterwards, we went back to belmont for some rice noodle before i returned to cambridge. kitty came scampering out of the shadows, having spent the whole day outside, quickly running into the house, where she immediately started eating from her feeding bowl. watched an awesome new england patriots season opener game against the colts, watched a sad red sox loss to the mariners. based on this game, it's amazing the mariners aren't going to make it to the post-season.
