i woke up at 10am even though i could've totally slept more. i think the fact that i can't sleep later than 10am means i'm a partial morning person. working from home, i think that's a respectable time to wake up, not too early, but not too late either. i had a couple of tea eggs and a chicken pot pie pocket for lunch, waited a little bit, did 200 bicycle crunches, then headed out the door for a run. i went with a longer stride (i read it's better on my knees, even though i haven't had any knee problems recently), and i nearly sprinted for the final quarter of the route, the few people i ran behind, it was almost a personal challenge to pass them all. i can't wait for wednesday, my next scheduled run. i want to go fast, i want to pass more people! despite the rain earlier, i was disappointed that it wasn't raining when i was running. only when i walked back did it start to drizzle a little bit, too little too late.

when andrew came back from work, i made dinner, a thai stir fry that included chicken, mango, snow peas, peppers, baby corn, and scallions. i actually wanted to make this last week, but didn't have all the ingredients. i went across the street to buy some peppers, and coming back i got caught in a downpour. on the street i saw a girl running around in a tank top, stopping traffic, awed by the sudden burst of rain. stir fry isn't hard, but my only pan is too small, so i used a large pot instead. i think the final creation looked good, but i wasn't happy with how it tasted. the different components didn't fuse together too well, it was missing something but i don't know what. the cooked pieces of mango tasted weird, lost its sweetness, became more tart. the peas i should've peeled, parts of the shell were kind of rough.
