on this 8th day of the heat wave, i didn't do any work at my house but instead spent it at the middlesex mall in burlington with my mother and sister, buying stuff for my place. i went to linens 'n things (rubbermaid tupperware set, shower curtains), a crafts store (polyester fiberfill for my turkish bolsters), kitchen etc. (cutting board, dish rack), and bed bath & beyond (7 piece ballarini cookware set, kitchen and bathroom rugs). the mall was saturated with back to college advertisements (not to mention the college kids with their parents), handy checklist of the things all returning and first time college students should have. after over four hours of comfortable air conditioned shopping, we drove back home, the car filled with goodies.

after dinner we went over to family friend fan-susu's tailor shop in needham, where he was getting rid of all his unclaimed tailored clothes. i got a few pairs of free pants out of the deal, and then came back to belmont.

this is the second day that my weblog has been down. tomorrow, a weekday, hopefully i can get this situation resolved. once my account gets reinstated, i'm leaving sharpwebinnovations. i haven't had a problem with them until now, but there's so many cheaper webhosts out there, i shouldn't have to work this hard in order to get service.

did i also mention i'm trying to get more politically active? i figured since i've legally been an adult for the past decade, i should act more like one, and one of the steps is registering to vote for the upcoming election. mitt romney's a nice guy and all, but robert reich is my man. one of his supporters was over at my parents' cafe yesterday, putting up a sign in the window supporting reich (my parents are big reich fans as well because he lives nearby and often comes to get coffee and whatnot). i talked to the reich supporter a little bit, which gave me the motivation to register. i'm not affiliated with either party, but i heard i can vote in the democratic primary as an independent.
