rebecca's amaryllis is stunted! two stalks grow from the base, one straight and normal, the other crooked and growing sideways. how did this happen? i've got a theory, and that theory is named amanda. i told her a few weeks ago not to touch the sprouting amaryllis. when they're first out of the ground, there are all sorts of sensitive growing hormones at work. when you're touching it, of course this disrupts the natural growing process and you end up with stunted amaryllis!

no office adventures today, didn't even get a chance to venture out because i used the office eat through lunch free food delivery service. i didn't want to go out anyway, a day of freezing rain. i did receive a package though, my malena dvd finally arrived.

my bus ride back i sat in the back with a bunch of roughies. they had already hassled this man who wanted to sit down but one of the kids had his bag on the seat and wouldn't put it on the floor, saying that the arm he was leaning on it was broken and he couldn't move the bag. when the man found another seat, all the kids broken out in a chorus of laughter. midway through the ride they directed their attention to me. "wassup?" one of them said. i gave him a nod and the slightest of smile. i think a lot of times dealing with these gang of kids is like dealing with dogs. you don't want to challenge them, yet at the same time you can't back down. there was a round of discussion, "yo, know who he looks like? shang-tsung from mortal kombat!" another round of laughter. i sort of smiled some more and gave each of them a silent look. and then it was over. shang-tsung from mortal kombat, huh? i take that as a compliment. i know exactly who they were talking about, back in college mortal kombat was an important part of my life and shang-tsung was my favorite character because he could morph into the other characters. just another exciting ride on the t!

and my parents returned from their taipei trip. they brought back food of course, a lot of which i'm eating right now as i write.
