gregory peck is the most handsome screen actor ever! (more than sean connery? you bet!) i challenge anybody to find a movie star better looking than gregory peck. you just can't! roman holiday features a scooter chase (those roman police are pretty inept because they barely caught peck/hepburn joyriding on the scooter), a lighter/camera (james bond gadget years ahead of its time!), and partying with a princess (who doesn't want to party with a princess?). and what's this first cigarette deal? even though it's her first time she smokes it like a pro. she's obviously hiding some shady past! POTENTIAL SPOILER i was surprised there wasn't a happy ending. i thought all these old movies had to have happy endings. the ending wasn't exactly sad, it was just bittersweet, showcasing one of the many facets of love i suppose (i'm no expert, don't take my word for it, see the movie for yourself).

after work there's nothing more i like to do than to walk around the backyard, especially after a nice rainstorm. the grass is wet and cool, and everything is bejeweled with raindrops. that's exactly what happened today. the streets were awashed in the yellow swirls of pollen as i came home. i changed into my shorts and put on a pair of flip flops to venture outside into the backyard. ah, suburb living! i saw little pearls of rain clinging to the tips of new bamboo stalks. orange poppy flowers against a deep sea of green grass. delphinium buds ready to open up to expose transparent blue trumpet-shaped flowers. raindrops on red rose petals. and the fragrant aroma of summer honeysuckle. who says rainy days are bad! when you love plants, rain just brings out their natural beauty!
