sometimes the insect kingdom makes me blush. like when i go into the backyard to get some insect photos and i see two bugs doing it out in the open with no regard to public decency. sure, they're just bugs, but please, what if there are children around? still, i do admire their lack of inhibition. we should all be so open about our own sexuality -- provided of course that there are no children around to witness them!

shoei matte black st.cruz half helmet medium. i didn't really like it at first when it arrived yesterday; i thought it looked a little big on my head. after i reattached the neck guard and snapped on the visor, it didn't look that bad. riding with the helmet was pretty smooth. my biggest worry was that the visor would act as a sail and actually pull my head back when i ride fast, like the used visored helmet we have. i guess this helmet is better designed, because i didn't feel any drag. another great thing about the half helmet is it's easier to take off (although this shoei is so comfortable, i kind of feel like wearing it everywhere!) -- my old wine red open face shoei had to be pryed off my head practically. on my commute to and from work today i gave the hand and the head nod to a few other fellow cruisers. i still get a kick out that, sort of like some secret brotherhood of motorcyclists, particularly cruiser-style bikes. i've had the meanest looking loud harley-davidson riding bikers -- whom normally i would probably cross the street in order to avoid -- saying hello to me on the open roads. get a bike, make new friends!
